Achilles Tendon

The Greek historical figure, Achilles was a warrior/hero in the Trojan War. Achilles was well known for killing the Trojan king Hector during the Trojan War and his name appears in Homer's Iliad. However, during the war, Achilles was slain because of being shot in the heel with an arrow from an enemy soldier. This is why the tendon connecting the foot to the leg is referred to as the Achilles Tendon. This is a fitting name for the tendon because it seems to always be hurting (at least for me) and it led to Achilles' downfall in battle. Kevin Durant, a star basketball player, is injured for the whole season due to hurting his Achilles tendon. Durant is like an Achilles to other NBA franchises, so like in the Trojan war, a formidable warrior cannot aid his team due to damaging this seemingly harmless tendon.
