Aqua Man

Aquaman is a fictional character in the DC comics. He is the king of the Atlantis in his origin story as well as in the 2018 adaption. Aquaman is related to Greek mythology because he is mainly based off of Posiden. They incorporated Posiden into the character because Aquaman can have sort of the same powers. Aquaman is able to control the oceans and the oceanic life around him because he has a connection with it, similar to Posiden. But, one big thing that brings them close together is the trident. This is something that Posiden has always used and is something that Aquaman has started to use. In Aquaman, the trident is actually the trident of Posiden. I think that making a character like Aquaman similar to the greek god Posiden makes sense. They both have powers surrounding the sea and both have the same weapon. Making Aquaman have a similar story to Posiden also ensures that if the viewers know at least a little bit of greek mythology, it might be easier to grasp what kind of character Aquaman is.
